Assigning via LINE

Construction App With LINE Notifications: Assign Tasks, No OA Needed

What a construction app with LINE notifications should do: assign tasks, get photo reports, inspect, and alert crews in the LINE they already use.

A construction app with LINE notifications lets a foreman assign a task once and have the crew alerted in the LINE app they already open every day. No email, no new app to install, no chasing people in a group chat to ask whether they saw the message.

This article covers what a good construction task management app needs, when Pidjob (ปิดจ๊อบ) sends alerts, and the limits you should know before trying it.

Why notifications should arrive in LINE, not email or a new app

Most crew members check LINE all day and almost never check email. Few want another app on a phone that is already full. If assigning work means remembering a password and opening a new app every morning, the crew drifts back to chat messages.

Alerts that land where people already look matter more than polished features. A task nobody sees is a task nobody does.

What a task assignment system for crews needs

Whatever tool you use, an assignment should always answer three questions:

  1. Who is responsible? One named person, not "the team".
  2. When is it due? A date and time, and a stated reason if it moves.
  3. Where does it stand? Waiting to be accepted, in progress, awaiting inspection, or done.

If you cannot answer these without phoning someone, the system is not yet saving the foreman any work.

When Pidjob sends a LINE alert

In Pidjob, whoever creates a task sets the assignee and the due date and time. LINE notifications go out at four key moments:

  • Task created: the crew member knows new work has arrived.
  • Work submitted: the inspector knows something is waiting. Crews attach site photos, up to 4 per report.
  • Approved: the crew knows the task is closed.
  • Sent back for fixes: the crew gets the task back with what needs fixing, fixes it, and resubmits within the same task.

Your team uses personal LINE, with no company OA to build

Many contractors assume LINE alerts mean registering and maintaining their own LINE Official Account. With Pidjob you don't. Notifications are sent through Pidjob's shared OA, and your team keeps using their personal LINE accounts.

For a small contractor with no time to run another business account, that makes getting started faster and removes one thing to manage.

Signing in with LINE: open the invite, accept, no password

Access uses LINE Login. For a crew member it looks like this:

  1. Open the invite link the team owner sends.
  2. Accept the LINE sign-in consent.
  3. Start using it in the mobile browser.

There is no password to remember and nothing to install. An internet connection is required while using it.

A day on site: a foreman assigns 8 tasks in the morning

Picture a foreman covering two home extensions. In the morning they assign 8 tasks, such as pouring a bathroom slab, running water pipes and plastering a bedroom, each with an assignee and a due time.

Each crew member gets a LINE alert and opens "My Today" to see everything they need to handle. In the evening the foreman opens the task board and sees how many tasks are waiting to be accepted, in progress, awaiting inspection or done, without calling each person.

Submitted work arrives with site photos attached, not a bare "done boss".

Limits to know before you start

  • Pidjob runs in the mobile browser and needs an internet connection. It does not work offline.
  • It is not an installable store app; you open it through a browser and an invite link.
  • All alerts go through LINE. If your crew doesn't use LINE, this isn't the right fit.
  • You can't approve your own work; a second person inspects it, which small teams may need to plan for.

To see who it suits, read how Pidjob helps small contractor teams.
